The Moulin Rouge's new show, "Féerie", has been created by Doris Haug and Ruggero Angeletti, who, since 1961, have been the directors of the most famous shows in the world.
Choreographed by Bill Goodson, Féerie consists of : a troupe of 100 artists, including the 60 Doriss Girls that were recruited world-wide; 1000 costumes of feathers, rhinestones and sequins, designed by Corrado Collabucci, and set up in the most famous Parisian workshops (for example, 500 pairs of custom-made shoes of the size 36 to 47, ...); sumptuous settings with shining colors and unique designs created by Gaetano Castelli and made by Italian artists; the best international and outstanding acts; and the expected return of the giant Aquarium.. all of that with music by Pierre Porte, using some 80 musicians and 60 members of the chorus.
"Féerie"; 4 main scenes created to fulfill international audiences' dreams!
"The Moulin Rouge today and yesterday, the Moulin Rouge forever"
The theatre lights switch off, the curtain is raised and the entire troupe appears on stage, under the admiring gaze of the audience who find themselves entering the Garden of the Moulin Rouge to discover the magical atmosphere of the place. A touch of nostalgia!
"Sandokan"
What kind of adventures can happen to a pirate whose boat is anchored in Indonesia? Dreams? A perfect woman's love? Once in the land, one meets priestesses, or a Gorgon in her temple surrounded by snakes, women jewels, tigresses...
Will Sandokan have the opportunity to offer his treasures to the lady of his dreams or will we be witnesses to a sacrifice of love?
"The Circus"
The circus comes to town with its band of clowns, Siamese twins, pierrots, acrobats, jugglers, weird wild animals and six miniature horses! A colorful scene with beautiful music which ends with the great parade of the Doriss Girls and Doriss Dancers.
"The Moulin Rouge from 1900 to ..."
The Moulin Rouge pays a tribute to Parisian women throughout the years: on the 14th of July, for the Liberation of Paris.. with Java or Boogie music. Time passes and leaves space for new generations of women, more beautiful and free than ever!

Thailand 'most Popular' for gap Years
Thousands of students opened their A-Level results yesterday, and Abta, the travel association, estimates that around 24,000 of them will spend much or all of the next 12 months overseas.
It reported that Thailand was proving to be the most popular choice among school leavers, followed by Australia, the US and South Africa.
Other favourites were Peru, popular with those hoping to tackle the Inca Trail; Vietnam, home to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Ha Long Bay, Hoi An and Mỹ Son; and Brazil, famous for beaches, jungle treks, and sprawling cities. India, New Zealand, and Fiji completed the top ten.
Abta suggested that rising tuition fees had encouraged more young Britons to take a gap year, adding that several of its members had reported a rise in bookings compared to last year.
Victoria Bacon, head of communications at Abta, said: “Gap years have become even more popular among British teenagers since the rise in tuition fees in 2012 and increased competition for graduate jobs, with many students now looking to travel experiences to help make their gap year stand out on the CV.
“There is now an incredible choice of activities and destinations to support young travellers in developing and learning new skills,” she added. “It’s very important that if you’re planning a gap year, you research your options thoroughly: talk to a travel professional, who will be able to offer you advice about destinations and experiences; check travel advice with Abta and the Foreign Office and always book with a reputable company.”
To help those students considering a year out, Telegraph Travel has compiled its annual Gap 100, featuring our pick of the most trustworthy gap year travel companies and websites.
We’ve also published a list of ten essential questions to ask when organising your trip, and several case studies from recently returned gap year travellers (see below).

Travel Etymology 2014
The origin of the word "travel" is most likely lost to history. The term "travel" may originate from the Old French word travail.[3] According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, the first known use of the word travel was in the 14th century. It also states that the word comes from Middle English travailen, travelen (which means to torment, labor, strive, journey) and earlier from Old French travailler (which means to work strenuously, toil). In English we still occasionally use the words travail and travails, which mean struggle. According to Simon Winchester in his book The Best Travelers' Tales (2004), the words travel and travail both share an even more ancient root: a Roman instrument of torture called the tripalium (in Latin it means "three stakes", as in to impale). This link is fascinating given the extreme difficulty of travel in ancient times. Also note the torturous connotation of the word "travailler." Today, travel may or may not be much easier depending upon the destination you choose (i.e., Mt. Everest, the Amazon rainforest), how you plan to get there (tour bus, cruise ship, or oxcart), and whether or not you decide to "rough it (see extreme tourism and adventure travel). "There's a big difference between simply being a tourist and being a true world traveler," notes travel writer Michael Kasum.

Fraport reports fifth airline operating A380 into Frankfurt
An Airbus A380 with the blue-red-white tail fin of British Airways (BA) landed at Frankfurt airport (FRA) last Friday. The reason being, British Airways is launching this aircraft type into its long-haul route network. It is the first of twelve A380 aircraft to be delivered to BA. “I am very happy to welcome passengers on the Frankfurt-London route flying on our brand new A 380 aircraft. The implementation and handling is running according to plan and we thank Frankfurt Airport for this,” says Katja Selle, Regional Commercial Manager, Central and East Europe, British Airways. The airline is flying this short-haul route, Heathrow-Frankfurt, for a limited period of time.
“The fact that British Airways flies the A380 to Frankfurt shows that we have a good reputation as a reliable partner for airlines. With timely investments in our infrastructure, we have successfully laid the foundation for the operation of the A380 in Frankfurt and strengthened our position as a major hub airport”, says Peter Schmitz, Chief Operations Officer of Fraport AG.
In 2005 Frankfurt was the first airport worldwide to be “A380 compatible”. It was not only that the first landing of the A380 prototype at a civilian airport was conducted here - but the licensing for ground handling and evacuation of the largest aircraft worldwide also took place at FRA.
British Airways is the fifth airline to operate an A380 into Frankfurt Airport, after Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, Korean Air and Thai Airways. The airline is a long-standing customer of Frankfurt Airport. It commenced service back in 1938 under the banner of Imperial Airways.

Cathal O’Connell chief executive bmi regional
When British Midland International was finally subsumed into International Airlines Group, owners of British Airways, in 2012 it was by no means clear that offshoot bmi regional would be able to make it on its own. Yet a little over a year later the airline has established itself as a niche carrier, offering scheduled passenger services across the UK and Europe. As chief executive Cathal O’Connell explains to Breaking Travel News: “The hardest task we faced at the offset was telling people we still exist. With International Airlines Group taking over bmi, there is a misconception bmi regional is no longer in operation. However, this is obviously not the case.” Perhaps airline passengers could be forgiven for their mistake. bmi baby, a smaller subsidiary in the BMI stable, could not be saved and was closed down on September 10th 2012. In contrast, canny management and investment from Sector Aviation Holdings, a private company operated by the Bond Family behind Bond Offshore Helicopters, saved the larger bmi regional. A new airline was born, with new management, a new owner and a significantly increased network; up from 11 to 23 routes in summer 2013. But it was not easy, with bmi regional having to undergo a period of incubation while BMI was incorporated into International Airlines Group.
The entire infrastructure that was used – offices, IT services, call centres, and everything else that was needed to run an airline – was provided by BMI. Following the sale, bmi regional had to rebuild all of these facilities, which is what the airline worked on for the first six months after its move until its re-launch as a standalone company in October last year. “We needed to identify what systems we needed, who we could acquire those systems from, and what staff we would need in order to make those systems run effectively. “Over time we developed a completely new infrastructure,” continues O’Connell. “We now have a new headquarters at East Midlands Airport, while operations and engineering remains in Aberdeen; having created 100 jobs over the past year, in addition to saving 300 which were on the block following the sale to IAG.” What emerged is now a materially different operation from the one that was acquired a year ago.
This summer bmi regional operates 450 flights a week to eight countries, flying 18 aircraft - all Embraer 145 or Embraer 135 jets – and operating out of a series of regional bases, at Aberdeen, Edinburgh, East Midlands Airport and Bristol. Routes are also now focused on point-to-point services after being recalibrated away from feeder traffic needed for the former BMI parent. “The hangover from the bmi Group meant bmi regional was offering flights to Star Alliance hubs, including Frankfurt, Brussels and Copenhagen, which no longer made economic sense to the new carrier,” adds O’Connell. “All of our European routes were operating as feeder routes to Star Alliance members.
“When we left Star Alliance the economics, not to mention the need, for these routes, disappeared.” So where to fly now? “We asked ourselves, now have these aircraft what can we do with them that makes more sense than what they are doing now?” continued O’Connell. “We recognised the aircraft we had were suited to very high frequency routes, so we looked at various markets and established those which were underserved. “We were looking for those which initially had a strong business demand, those with major companies which require the links bmi regional could provide. “We then examined the leisure opportunity on the same route, and where these two combined we considered a route; a whole range of opportunities.” A good example would be Airbus, which has a major facility in Bristol, which requires connections to Hamburg and its facilities there. Both Bristol and Hamburg are also established tourist destinations, making it a viable route for bmi regional. The carrier also has a fairly significant, and growing, non-scheduled service carrying VIPs, music groups, and sports teams to destinations around the country. But O’Connell is also quick to point out this is now low-cost carrier cherry picking routes.
“We offer both business and economy fares – all catering onboard is free, as well as baggage carriage – the airline remains a full service carrier. “We offer the services flag-carriers offered a few years ago, and in many cases services people have forgotten about. “We aim to take the hassle out of travel,” he explains. bmi regional also owns the rights to the BMI brand, and could revert to that name, but this is not on the agenda at present. Growth instead is coming from new routes and improvements to the onboard offering. bmi regional is working on healthy options for onboard eating for example, maximising the experience for passengers. “We have also put in place a marketing campaign which tells people, yes, we do still exist,” jokes O’Connell. “We have also changed perceptions. Yes, we are a business airline, but we also offer leisure services.
“We have more new routes in the pipeline, not just departing from the UK, but also within Europe. “We now fly into the major airports, but less for connections – our passengers now tend to be flying to their destinations, rather than toward an onward flight. “That said, looking at codeshare agreements with global carriers to offer more opportunity to our passengers. “This is good for us, and for them, offering regional airports to international passengers.” Just a year in bmi regional has established itself as a viable carrier, no mean feat in troubling times. With competition getting tighter all the time it might be a bumpy ride yet, but the carrier is certainly pointed in the right direction.

Transport From The Barcelona Airport To The City Centre - Barcelona Airport 2013
Barcelona International Airport (IATA: BCN, ICAO: LEBL), also known as El Prat, is a major transport hub and fields flights from all over Europe and beyond.
Terminals
There are three terminals, A, B and C, all within fairly easy walking distance of each other. Terminal B is used by Spanish carriers (Iberia, Spanair, Air Europa, Vueling) and their partners (eg British Airways). Terminal C is smallest and used for all domestic flights, including the Puente Aereo (Air shuttle) to Madrid. Terminal A for all other flights. A giant new south terminal was open in 2009.
Transport from the Barcelona Airport to the city centre
The airport is only about 10 km away from the city center. Airport transfers can be arranged for groups, taxis are available but expensive (€20-30 to the city center). A cheaper and often faster option is the half-hourly RENFE C-10 suburban train line calling at Sants (20 minutes), Passeig de Gràcia (25 minutes) and Estació de França (30 minutes) in the city center. A single ticket is about €2.20, but an under-advertised fact is that you can use the T-10 ticket (€7.20 for ten trips, including all bus and metro transfers made within 75 minutes) instead. You can buy a T-10 from the ticket vending machine at the airport station.
Alternatively, the Aerobús A1 line stops between Terminal A and Terminal B and travels along Gran Via to Plaça Catalunya. Buses depart every 6-9 minutes, the published journey time is 35 minutes (although can take considerably longer during rush hour) and costs €4.05 one-way. Buses are heavily air-conditioned in summer: have something extra to wear during the journey. Aerobuses stop running at midnight, but you can catch a Nit Bus night bus service instead (Nit Bus N17, between 22.00 and 05.00. The ride from Plaza Cataluña to Airport El Prat takes about 40 minutes).
Duty-free shops
Open from 6/6:30am to 9:30pm (few to 10pm). Shops are numerous and some are hard to find elsewhere in the city. Most shops are before the passport control; only one or two are afterwards.
Tax-free shopping refund. Office closes at 10pm without compromises. After that time checks can be only processed by mail: complete your tax-free forms with your passport data and addresses, stamp them with the custom office (a window next to arrivals gate door; they don't ask to see your purchases); put them into envelope you were given in the shop and wait for several months.
Cafes
Cafes, pre-security check. Limited options, sub-standard fare. Food at Ars is awful and not cheap. Pans & Company have almost no hot meals.
Cafes, post-security check. Numerous options, all close something between 10pm and 11pm.
Parking
Costs €1.35/hour, €9.45/day, €6.75/day from the 6th day.
Luggage lockers
Baggage storage is €4.60 per day for a large locker that easily fits 2-3 serious suitcases. Left-hand end of Terminal B, behind the Ars cafe.
Departure gates
Poorly conditioned at ground level (at least gate #57, sector A, after 11pm).
WiFi
Available throughout the airport, operated by KubiWireless: €7.5 for 45min, €9 for 1 hour, €15 for 24 hours.
Low cost carriers operating to Barcelona
Air Berlin, Monarch Airlines, Jet2.com, ClickAir (a discount subsidiary of Iberia), Vueling, WIZZ Air, easyJet, Ryanair (only on nearby Girona and Reus airports), Blue Air, Sterling Airlines, flyGlobespan, Transavia among many others.
Nearby airports
Some low-cost carriers, notably Ryanair, use the airports in Girona, nearly 100km to the north, or Reus, around the same distance to the south, instead.
For Girona Airport: The Barcelona Bus service runs a shuttle bus from Estació del Nord in Barcelona to Girona Airport and this ties in with various flight times. A one-way ticket costs €12 and a return ticket costs €21. The journey takes approximately one hour and ten minutes.
For Reus airport, the easiest way is to take the train from Barcelona Sants station to Reus and then the local bus to the airport. The train costs €6.45 and then the bus costs €2. This takes roughly about an hour and a half.

Main sights and attractions
Sagrada Familia
The Sagrada Familia ('The Holy Family') is a massive Roman Catholic basilica under construction in Barcelona. Construction began in 1882 and its formal title is Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família. Originally designed by Antoni Gaudí (1852 – 1926), who worked on the project for over 40 years, devoting the last 15 years of his life entirely to the endeavor, the project is scheduled to be completed in 2026. On the subject of the extremely long construction period, Gaudí is said to have remarked, "My client is not in a hurry."
Casa Batlló and Casa Milà (La Pedrera)
The Casa Batllo is a building restored by Antoni Gaudí and Josep Maria Jujol, built in the year 1877 and remodelled in the years 1905–1907; located at 43, Passeig de Gràcia, part of the Illa de la Discòrdia in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Catalonia. The local name for the building is Casa dels ossos (House of Bones), and indeed it does have a visceral, skeletal organic quality. It was originally designed for a middle-class family and situated in a prosperous district of Barcelona.
The Casa Milà, better known as La Pedrera (Catalan for 'The Quarry'), is a building designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí and built during the years 1905–1910, being considered officially completed in 1912. It is located at 92, Passeig de Gràcia in the Eixample district of Barcelona. Hosts a large exposition of Gaudi works, covering Sagrada Familia and Casa Batlio, not only La Pedrera itself. The exposition is a good place to start your exploration of Gaudi; it reveals many hidden details for the art novice.
Gothic Quarter | Cathedral - Santa Maria del Mar
The Cathedral of Santa Eulàlia (also called La Seu) is the Gothic cathedral seat of the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Barcelona, Catalonia (Though sometimes inaccurately so called, the famous Sagrada Família is not a cathedral). The cathedral was constructed throughout the 13th to 15th centuries on top of a former Visigothic church. The Gothic-like façade is from the 19th century. The cathedral is dedicated to Eulalia of Barcelona, co-patron saint of Barcelona, a young virgin who, according to Catholic tradition, suffered martyrdom during Roman times in Barcelona.
The Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar is one of the most representative examples of Catalan Gothic architecture, it features a sombre but beautiful interior. The upsweeping verticality and lightness of the interior are especially surprising considering the blocky exterior surfaces. Built between 1329 and 1383, it was once was home to a Christian cult in the late 3rd century. The church is dedicated to Saint Mary of the Sea, since the quarter where is located (Born) was dedicated to the jobs related to the sea.
La Rambla - Boqueria Market
The Barcelona Rambla is a street in central Barcelona, popular with both tourists and locals alike. A 1.2 kilometer-long tree-lined pedestrian mall in the Barri Gòtic, it connects Plaça Catalunya in the center with the Christopher Columbus monument at Port Vell. La Rambla can be considered a series of shorter streets, each differently named, hence the plural forms Las Ramblas (Spanish) and les Rambles (Catalan).
The most well-known public market in the city is the Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria, or simply La Boqueria. Located along the La Rambla, Barcelona in the heart of the city, It is both a tourist attraction and a functioning food market. The market consists of a series of open sheds, built in 1853 under the direction of architect Mas Vila. Though the building dates from the 19th Century, a market has existed in the same location since the 12th Century.
Port Vell - Maremàgnum
Montjuïc | Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya - Poble Espanyol
The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya is a museum of Catalan visual art located in the Palau Nacional, built for the 1929 World's Fair. Situated on the Montjuïc hill at the end of Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina, it was rehabilitated for the 1992 Summer Olympics. The museum was located in this building in 1990, when the Catalonian Museum Law reunited the collections of the former Museu d'Art de Catalunya and the Museu d'Art Modern, and declared it the national museum. The new museum thus combined Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and the 19th and 20th century art collections.
The Poble Espanyol was built in 1929 for the Barcelona International Exhibition as the pavilion dedicated to art. It is one of the few monuments that belonged to an International Exhibition that can still be visited. From the beginning, it was conceived as a real "village" in the middle of a city, with a surface area of 49,000 m2. The aim was to give an idea of what might be an "ideal model" of a Spanish village containing the main characteristics of all towns and villages in the peninsula.
Gràcia | Park Güell
The Park Guell is a 17, 18 ha wide garden complex with architectural elements situated on the hill of el Carmel in the Gràcia district of Barcelona, Catalonia. It was designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí and built in the years 1900 to 1914. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Works of Antoni Gaudí". The park was originally part of a commercially unsuccessful housing site, the idea of Count Eusebi de Güell, whom the park was named after. It was inspired by the English garden city movement; hence the original English name Park.
Palau de la Musica Catalana
The Palau de la Musica Catalana (Palace of Music), opened in 1908, is one of the most important works of Barcelona art nouveau. The architect commissioned for the job was Lluis Domenech i Montaner, one of the greatest exponents of Catalan Modernismo. The construction, decorated with scultures, mosaics and stained glass by the finest artists and artisans of the time, is perhaps the best example of the synthesis between architecture and decorative arts that characterised this artistic movement.
Futbol Club Barcelona Stadium - Barcelona FC Museum
One for fans, the museum at Camp Nou is always packed and features displays of pictures, posters, jerseys, boots and balls, as well as offering a tour of the huge stadium.

Dubai Travel Guide Hotels Restaurants
A relatively new tourist destination, Dubai was gaining popularity in recent years until the global economic crash of 2008. Dubai is essentially a desert city with superb infrastructure, liberal policies (by regional standards), that became popular for its excellent tourist amenities. Just 5 h from Europe and 3 h from most parts of the Middle East, the Near East, and the subcontinent of India, Dubai makes a great short break for shopping, partying, sunbathing, fine dining, sporting events, and even a few sinful pleasures. It is a city of superlatives: for the fastest, biggest, tallest, largest and highest, Dubai is the destination. It has the largest immigrant population in the world. The weekly day off is on Friday. Note that, since September 2006, a harmonised weekend of Friday and Saturday has been adopted for the public sector and schools.
Dubai's main airport is the Dubai International Airport. You can also enter Dubai by using Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) in the nearby emirate of Sharjah and Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) in nearby Abu Dhabi. Frequent visitors from countries granted automatic visa on entry may wish to purchase an e-gate card to speed up immigration formalities and save passport pages. The e-gate card office is situated in the upstairs foodcourt area of the terminal 1 departures concourse. The card will cost AED 200. Note: If you intend to buy an e-gate card in Dubai, you must have entered UAE via Dubai airport.
Terminals 1 and 3 are directly connected to each other via the airside (no immigration needed for transfer), while Terminal 2 is located at the other end of the airport. Terminals 1 and 3 are models of modern airport design, but Terminal 2, despite the recent renovations, is still reminiscent of developing world airports, with long check-in lines, queue-jumping and every other passenger checking in 70 kg of luggage. Shuttle buses between the three run every 20-30 min. However shuttles to Terminal 2 are sporadic at best, so a 30 min taxi ride may be your only option. A low-cost option for traveling to Terminal 2 is to catch the metro to a nearby station, such as GGICO metro station, and from there catch a taxi to Terminal 2.
Dubai's only international road border is with Oman at Al Wajajah. Expatriate residents of Oman will require an official permit to exit Oman by road. Visitors do not require the permit. There is an OMR 3.000 charge per vehicle to exit Oman and, if returning, retain the charge receipt as it will be required to reenter. Ensure that insurance is valid for the UAE (preferably before commencing the journey). Temporary UAE insurance can be purchased at the border for a premium price.
There are also road borders between the neighbouring Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Oman at the Al Burami Oasis which divides the sister cites of Al Ain and Al Burami, Oman.
Giorgio Armani's first hotel opened in 2010 in the world's tallest tower, Dubai's 828-metre Burj Khalifa, amid much fanfare. Built on the first 39 floors of the dart-shaped skyscraper, the resort is part-residences, part-hotel - although the same brooding style underpins everything. Sharp lines, neutral tones, stone and mahogany predominate: you can almost smell the masculinity. The best rooms have vast balconies overlooking the Dubai Fountain, another record-breaker with water that shoots as high as 150 metres into the air.
The hotel sits at the furthest point of the islands' outer frond (accessible via a long drive or a shorter boat ride), lending it an air of honeymoon-friendly seclusion. This despite its large size: 64 rooms, 26 suites and four villas in large Moorish-stylemansions. But One&Only The Palm is best known for its restaurants, fronted by chef Yannick Alléno of three-Michelin-starred Le Meurice in Paris. They are STAY (the acronym for Simple Table Alléno Yannick), which aims to show that fine food need not be pretentious; the international restaurant Zest; and 101, a bar-restaurant-lounge that simply sings St Tropez. Skip-the-Line Eiffel Tower Ticket in Paris
Skip the line at the Eiffel Tower in Paris with this fast-track entrance ticket, and explore the different levels at leisure! After meeting a host to hear some fun facts and history about the tower, walk to the priority entranceway and then head straight up the elevator independently. Skip-the-line access to the attraction’s 1st and 2nd levels is included, as well as standard access to the Eiffel Tower’s summit.
Highlights
Choice of several departures throughout the day
Enjoy fantastic aerial views
Skip the line
Meet your host near the Eiffel Tower and listen to a brief introduction about this fascinating landmark– its history, architecture and views – before heading to the base of the tower with your skip-the-line ticket and fact sheet. Queues in the peak summer months can sometimes last up to two hours; fortunately, you’ll bypass those lines by heading through the priority entranceway and then up the elevator independently.
Your ticket includes entry to the tower’s 1st and 2nd levels, as well as its summit, and you can spend as little or as long as you like at each point. Walk around independently, soaking up unforgettable views from this iconic architectural marvel, and reading about the tower’s history from your fact sheet. Completed in 1889, the Eiffel Tower took precisely two years, two months and five days to make. While it wasn’t loved by the locals originally, it wasn’t long before it won over the hearts of Parisians and visitors alike.
On the 1st level, look down at the pin-like people lined up below you, and gaze at the Champ des Mars -- Paris’ famous green park -- stretching out toward Montparnasse Tower. The best vistas are arguably seen from the 2nd level, where you’re high enough to soak up the city skyline, but still close enough to see famous landmarks (like Notre Dame Cathedral) without needing a map.
For jaw-dropping views, continue to the summit! The skip-the-line access you get for the first two levels does not include the 3rd level; everyone must wait for one elevator, but the line doesn't usually last longer than 30 minutes – a short time to wait to stand at the top of the Eiffel Tower!

Highlights
Fully narrated tour

Your drive through the picturesque Normandy countryside takes you to the Caen Memorial, devoted to illustrations and films about the Second World War and the Normandy landings of June 1944.
After lunch at the Memorial, visit the Pointe du Hoc, a German defense position that was heroically taken by US soldiers during World War II. Continue to the American cemetery of Saint-Laurent, the final resting place of almost 10,000 soldiers. You will also have free time at Omaha Beach to reflect on the site's moving history and visit the Omaha Beach Visitor Center, which describes the American soldiers' operations on the famous beach in June 1944.
Before returning to Paris, stop at the Canadian Memorial at Juno beach and Arromanches to see the remains of the artificial landing harbor that was built by the Allies in less than 15 days.

Small-group tour
Your VIP experience begins as you board a luxurious, air-conditioned minivan in central Paris and head west to the Palace of Versailles. When you arrive, meet your knowledgeable guide at the palace’s reserved entrance, and go straight inside with your priority access ticket.
Follow your guide to the State Apartments, where you’ll see two of the 17 rooms – the King’s Chamber and the Council Study. Then head to the fabulous Hall of Mirrors. Your group will be among the first of the general public to arrive at this famous room so you can enjoy the sumptuous setting in all its glory. Walk down the spectacular hall, lined with 357 mirrors that reflect the windows on the opposite wall.
Next, the exclusive part of your tour truly begins as you leave the crowd behind and pass through the velvet ropes into the palace’s restricted area. See the following Royal Quarters of Louis XV and Louis XVI:
The library of Louis XVI, said to be one of his favorite rooms
The dining room where Louis XV held dinners for lords and ladies
The clock room with its clock that has a crystal globe showing the planets revolving around the sun
The ‘corner room,’ which contains a cylinder desk belonging to Louis XV that is considered one of the most outstanding pieces of furniture in the world
You will then visit one of two additional royal sites, depending on daily availability: the Royal Opera House, built in 1770 to celebrate the wedding of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, or the Royal Chapel, where a series of paintings and sculptures depicts the notion that kings were chosen by God.
The guided portion of your tour now ends, and your friendly guide will answer any questions you have. From here, you have a few options to complete your Versailles experience. You can explore the other 15 rooms that make up the public State Apartments independently. You can enjoy lunch at Angelina’s restaurant located inside the palace (own expense). Or you can head outside and enjoy the beautiful Gardens of Versailles – a 1,977-acre (800-hectare) oasis of groves, sculptures, labyrinths and fountains. Depending on the day of the week that you are at the palace, you may catch one of the summer musical events – either the Musical Gardens or the Musical Fountains Show (known as the Grandes Eaux musicales), both of which bring the gardens to live with classical music; see the Itinerary section below for more details.
The gardens are also home to La Petite Venise, a popular restaurant with a lovely terrace, located in the former stables by the Grand Canal. It is your choice if you’d like to eat here, but you must make your way here to meet your guide for the drive back to Paris.

Complimentary tea and coffee is served while looking out for seals and dolphins!
The barbecue lunch includes a classic Kiwi BBQ of marinated beef kebabs and sausages, a good range of salads, fresh bread and fruit juice. Vegetarian patties are available on request.
